As the temperature ramps up in the summer time, so do the NDBA bats. This week saw an explosion of offense amongst the teams, with the Pioneers and Anchors scoring over 20 runs, and another game featuring both teams reaching double digits. The Anchors and Alliance both made big moves this week by defeating the top 2 teams of 2025 thus far and making a point that the season is not quite over as we approach the half way mark.
Fort Erie Cannons 8 – Welland Pioneers 20
The Pioneers turned a close 2 run game into a blow out with a 10 run 6th inning on Monday night. 4 hits surrounded by 2 hit batters and 5 walks turned around what was a nice Fort Erie comeback after a 5 run 5th inning of their own.

Beamsville Yellow Jackets 6 – Merritton Aliance 8
The last unbeaten of 2025 is no more as the Merritton Alliance come back from 5 runs down to defeat the Beamsville Yellow Jackets for the first time this year. Dylan Rush was the hero with a 2 run single in the bottom of the 6th to cap the comeback and give the Alliance a much needed win.

St. Catharines Cobras 9 – Thorold Anchors 21
The Cobras almost did it again, as they trailed by 9 after 1 inning of play when the Anchors put up 11 runs in their first at bat. After pulling the game within 3 in the 5th, the Anchors were able to pull away again with a 7 run 6th inning.

St. Catharines Cobras 4 – Fort Erie Cannons 9
The Cobras dropped their 4th straight game and 2nd in a row on the road in Fort Erie. In a pretty even games throughout, the Cannons were able to consistently score throughout the game and eventually pull away,

Thorold Anchors 10 – Niagara Falls Expos 9
In a constant back and forth affair, the Anchors were able to score in the 9th inning and then hold the Expos to defeat the 1st place team. In a rare NDBA feat, Al Stephens hit 2HR in a losing effort. This one was an NDBA Friday night classic.

On a hot Sunday afternoon, the Cobras once again dug themselves a big hole in the first inning. Trailing by 11 after 1, the Cobras once again fought back to within 3 runs before the Alliance stretched the lead back to 6 with a 3 run home run by Ryan Bench in the 6th inning.
