Not a bad first season in Beamsville for the newly named Yellow Jackets.
On Friday night, the team from Beamsville added a 2024 NDBA Championship to their crowded trophy case with a convincing 12-0 victory over the Welland Pioneers in Game 4 of the NDBA Championship Series. The win sealed the teams first NDBA championship and comes on the heels of a provincial championship won a couple of weeks ago.
After dropping Game 2 of the series in Welland, the Yellow Jackets responded with two consecutive shutout mercy victories. Game 4's heros were the players that were there for them all season long. The team was propelled by league MVP Tyler Wood's 3 for 4 evening and Lou Gazzola Award winner Riley Gray striking out 9 over 5 shutout innings, the champions took a lead in the 2nd, and clinched the title with a 7 run 5th inning.
Congratulations to the Beamsville Yellow Jackets - the 2024 NDBA Champions
