2024 NDBA Season Format Announced
3/5/2024

At a recent league meeting, the NDBA brass finalized the 2024 regular season and playoff format by a unanimous vote. The biggest change surrounds a change that came from the OBA prior to this season, which is that the OBA Provincial playdowns will not be taking place on the traditional Labour Day Weekend. The provincial governing body has decided to move the Senior Mens playdowns to the weekend before the holiday, proclaiming that this shift will allow players who double as coaches and/or active parents in youth baseball can now attend both provincial playdowns rather than having to choose one to attend on the long weekend.

Nonetheless, this shift has slightly shifted the NDBA schedule around which always does its best to accomodate the teams seeking a provincial championship. Because of this shift, the regular season has been extended until August 18th with the playoffs beginning on the Tuesday following Labour Day, September 2nd.

Teams will continue to play 24 games, 4 against each opponents and the playoff format which was introduced in 2023, will remain the same, with the Quarterfinals being contested in a Best of 3 Series from September 2-9 and the Semi Finals being contested in a Best of 5 Series running from September 10-20.

The championship series will run from September 21-30 and will be contested in a Best of 5 format.
